A Re-Write of an old piece

When I felt or was confused,
or just felt there's nothing to lose,
I found myself talking to you on the phone,
and suddenly knew I wasn't alone.
Now that you've left, I have to confess,
my tourmented soul can not rest.

I just sit all alone, playing this song,

Now I feel I'm losing my mind -
just remember how you cried.
never in my life have I felt so alone,
my only escape was writing this song.
It runs through my head over again,
I still don't seem to understand,

Author's Note

I actually wrote this song over 10 years ago, and it reminds me of a lot of things that happened back then. It's one of my personal favorites.
It needed a LOT of work, which I finally found the time to do. The course stayed pretty much the same, but aside from that I did a lot of restructuring, grammar control and overall tweaks.
I'll still be keeping the original close by.

Oh, and one last thing - has NOTHING to do with my life right now, thankfully.

This was a nice piece- different from what you usually write I think, but I really like it. :)
I'm sure it's absolutely beautiful when played- it just seems like it would have to played a certain way with those lyrics. c:
