Illusions

Illusions

A Poem by Y.F.

Golden rings,
and hopeless dreams of home,
swallowing
your heart in a big storm.
Walk away,
pretend you do not care,
for they thought you would not dare.

Morning kisses
from the one you love -
an illusion,
mirrors and a dove,
Your grate will
to know you have it all,
for they told you you will fall.

I'm so sick of this,
these lies that dwell inside my head;
I'm so scared of this,
the truth is I'm already dead.

Bites and pieces
of a brand new you,
just because
you thought you had to.
In your mind
you sow what you have seed,
to defy them you'll succeed.
