endings and beginnings

endings and beginnings

A Poem by Julia

the pen

finishes writing my last words

its complete

the note explaining my death

placed on the floor

where my body will be laying pulseless soon enough

gun

in my hand

looking in the mirror one last time

sound of a gunshot

runs through my empty house

splattered blood

against the wall

then i fall

yes

i fall

and now

my suffering has ended

and now

your suffering will begin

An interesting take on suicide.
The title fits well and I liked the ending. I think it is right that those who are left behind by the one leaving do suffer. I believe it forms a cycle of sorrow, that one who suffered gone is replaced by one, or many, new ones - which I do not think is a good thing, but to me it seems as if the continuation of suffering by causing someone left behind pain is intended, perhaps part of the reason for the suicide.
There is an air of abandonment and aloneness to the scene described, delivered by the descriptions that allow but a glimpse at the scene and which I think work well.
Keep writing!
