To Wish and Dream

To Wish and Dream

~ a love poem ~

~~~
To wish and dream as I have done
on moonlit nights ‘til morning sun
embraces us with dew kissed skies
and finds us new as a sunrise
As new my love as springs delight
of blushing pink and purest white
of winds that curl the tallest trees…
Come closer love and catch the bees
hiding their hive in summer’s heat
when days are long and slow and sweet
a honey tongue, a kiss of wine
and passion fruit upon the vine
Ripe to the lips, soft to the sight
graciously to love invite
the shades of fall ‘til winter snow
finds nights as long as summer’s slow
And I will lift the tender veil
of darkest joys and those as pale
as the soft breast that holds you near
when days of new turn old my dear
For in my veins life streams again
these cherished days and nights of when
I wished and dreamed as I had done
and found love new, like morning sun
Stay with me love or it will seem
that all I’ve done is wish and dream
~~~

dear Julie... my favorite line is
"Come closer love and catch the bees...
hiding their hive in summer's heat
when days are long and slow and sweet"...
You have given us a lantern of hope
in colors of dreams... to sip the
sweet honey of summer's love. truly... Pat

This is a mesmerizing love poem where each of your logically stated quatrain couplets seem to be in perfect meter and rhyme. I found no errors. The writer's mood is clearly transferred to the reader. I was inspired to write this follow up to your first line which you may keep as a gift:

Dream

“To wish and dream as I have done,”
to stand before Moon, stars and Sun
with full attention, all-or-none
is how we grasp the one true One.

You are welcome it was my absolute pleasure :)
A wonderfully splendiferous write! it's funny now that I think about how poems tend to run the fine line of love and food. hmmmmm...methinks there's something to that!?!? :)
