Unveiled

Unveiled

A Poem by MsJewel
"

~ I loved the lies ~

"

~ photograph compliments of smashingshowcase ~

~~~
It was simply a charade, yet in your glance
the moon and stars they rose for you and me
and petals gently fell as flowers danced
on whispers from your lips, sweet poetry
Veiled my eyes, weakened knees with a just a breath
‘til winds blew wild and cold and as I feared
the tide drifting with love and tenderness
swept it all away and disappeared
As moon and stars and eyes grew dim as night
a glimmer of the dawn met skies of blue
your graceful serenade shamed in the light
once hidden in shadows of love thought true
The ending now quite clear, I can’t disguise
somewhere deep inside…I loved the lies
~~~

Hi Julie,
just read this one.
It's not surprising that a lot of your reviewers, like me, are men. Why can't we men find ladies like you in the physical world. We'd love to find someone with such insight, such a use of words, such a display of inner feelings. Your writing never disappoints.

What a beautiful heartfelt piece. Secretly I think a lot of us want our fairytale happy ever after that we sugar coat reality into something that eventually goes sour. It is easy to get wrapped up in our own emotions making it difficult to see through the lies. The soft romantic glow may help weaken a gullible heart but the light of day is less forgiving. Awesome job!

With such a beautiful piece, it was definitely my pleasure:)
In love with all of the lies because it was just easier that way.

What a heart-breaking write. Sometimes we are so blinded by love, we fail to see the truth. And when we do finally see the truth, we unfortunately come to realize, that in ignorance... comes true bliss.

"tell me lies tell me sweet little lies, tell me lies, oh no you can't disguise, no you can't disguise"
your poem made me think of Fleetwood Mac--one of their best songs.

once the light comes up, that which seems so loving and romantic in the night, turns to the shame of lies.

really intense write, Julie...

You are welcome Julie.
This poem is so full of raw emotions and heartfelt feelings,
that bleed from every line....
like a broken heart for two people that fell in love
Yet simply could not be together
But still want to believe the feelings never changes

And hope they never will.

This poem has always meant a lot to me....
and you will always mean the world to me.
