He is...(the wind)

He is...(the wind)

A Poem by MsJewel
"

~ a scribble ~

"

I feel his vibration

                                 drifting…

as careless as an ocean wave

as carefree as the seabirds song

that flies with him

teasing my hair

tickling my cheek

warmed with the fever of a sunny day

soft on my skin

               coaxing a smile

                                                 surrounding me

he is gentle

I reach for him

longing to hold him close

                                                 but he is inscrutable

I throw out my arms blindly

twirling aimlessly

                                                 I miss him

he rises above me

and he is fierce as he turns cold

a storm stirring the sky

                                         stinging my eyes

racing through my soul

 he is swift

I try to out run him

                                          but I decline

my legs are heavy

and my heart is  weak

he is strong

I surrender

for I am only flesh and blood

                                a woman

                                                and he is the wind

I actually had goosebumps by the time I got to the end of this, I'm running out of adjectives for your gorgeous poetry MsJewel's....romantically teasing, I think this is thus far my favorite, perhaps it's the ocean or the wind, or just the sublime feeling I'm left with, exquisitely divine. :)

You have described the power of nature wrapped all around as the wind, as a man quite beautifully.

Nice. it is a good description on expressing your innerself thoughts of the wind. i think most of it is a true statement and its greatly expressed from another view.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks so much for the lovely comment :) Julie
I felt the rising and falling of the waves as this relationship entails. I felt the strength and the weakness of the heart and legs. Twirling aimlessly, you convey the dance of the wind...Excellent...:)................

You are welcome...:).
The last lines really make this poem. Surrender, despite misgivings. Yep. That sums it up.

You pen words the reader can take as literal to a man or as symbolic to natures attribute of wind. I could relate to this as a man walking the hidden forests of the Smokey Mountains or visiting the stormy shores of the outer banks. I feel small and insignificant in these moments, yet I feel special because I can feel and appreciate the voices of nature. You give me this same experience in the poem here. Like walking into the wildness of the wind.

Yet there is such a strong relational component to this poem, I must consider this being the attributes of a love affair as well... Maybe a fantasy of a relationship beyond the reach of reality or maybe something you once enjoyed but no longer experience in the now.

Either way, or in many ways, this passionate poem was a joy to read and called me to respond with admiration and encouragement.

This is a poem I had no choice but to read slowly, because I never wanted it to end. Beautiful again Julie. Your words are so very soft and loving and it feels so good to read you. I really enjoyed this today.

O to be free and unshackled from the everyday rigours of life and to again feel those enticing sea breezes as they excitingly blow through your hair, stoking the flames of passion deep within the soul ! ( think I need to get out more Julie ? )

' as careless as an ocean wave
as carefree as the seabirds song ' ...Now what a couple of lines to prove my point !
