Rivers flow and oceans rise

we drift upon the tide

avoiding the waters deep

cautiously we glide

As waves crash and winds blow wild

drawn in by every breath

closer to you,

                                                            I cling,

                                                                      I ache

searching for tenderness

Twisting, turning, from my arms

I feel you slip away

drowning in your fantasy

I long to scream “stay”

A whisper, so soft to hear

is all that I can speak

sighs of love,

                                                                   of want,

                                                                             of need

perhaps the words are weak…

For you’ve heard the seabirds call

but I have seen the sky

and flown above heavens peak

on fragile wings I fly

Flawed…

                                                            yes,

                                                  as time goes on

but tides they glitter still

shallow pools of hopeless tears

                                                 icy the touch…

                                                                      the chill…

Lingers on

                                                              and when night falls

remember love confessed

left unfulfilled and yet

                I dream of happiness

I find so much truth to your words that go so far beyond the rhymes or the poem.
It takes pure emotion and deep feelings within your heart and soul to be able to write something
So profound, yet so beautiful.

This is another page of your incredible book of life
Spelled out through your incredible gift for poetry.

Simply lovely.

A very skilled capture of the elusive nature of love... The images of the birds and the sky conjure up the drifting dreams, and the pools of 'hopeless tears' a cold indeed

You really have a way with words! And you're welcome!
Beautifully bittersweet. In the depth of this dream you create a rich, wild longing for more. There is the pain of desire, of wishing for more than whispers of love... something that cannot even be voiced. Dream. Dream of it for it will only pull you into the depth of love's awakening world. xo

A very nice write. I am happy to return and find you still on site. Still getting over the grieving period of losing my husband but have started to jot some things down. God bless. Valentine
