Not Even the Moon

Not Even the Moon

A Poem by MsJewel
"

~ a love poem ~

"

Before he kissed me…

not even the moon

pale as it was

could cool

the warm wind rising

in a soft velvet sky

and the trees

branches stirring

the shimmer of leaves

waiting

for the night to shed her dew

His eyes held a starlit dream

His heart my only wish

And now…

as I loosen my hair

catching him in silk threads

                tangled

I think…

                not even the moon

Julie, each work is art. You have a gift for pairing the perfect image with your poetry. It's so gentle and tender, but even more passionate. I can see this scene, especially with the lovely lady, light penetrating dark and silk. And, "not even the moon" can cool the passion... even before the kiss. Beyond impressive!

This is very beautiful & gracefully-stated & enchanting. I love the interplay between the nicely-crafted celestial imagery & the love story that's playing out. Nicely playful too! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Thanks so much :) Julie
I know if I write thousands of poems I will never be able to picture things the way you do. The way you pictured the sky and how you described being kissed is just so unique and rare. I dive in very easily when I read any of your work. Keep it up xx

You are welcome Julie.
This is just as eloquent as moonlight itself. Who could not help but fall in love with your every word? Hopelessly, helplessly. Certainly, not I.
