It Must Have Been Spring

It Must Have Been Spring

A Poem by MsJewel
"

~ the honey was sweet ~

"

It must have been spring…

the bees were busy

the honey was sweet

and sweeter still

when shared beneath the beauty of cherry blossoms

blooming

and lush leaves breathing melodies

of sun and shade

as the afternoon swayed

into the night…

Her velvet dress unzipped

desire exposed and overflowing

on the warmth of the wind,

as the moon winked to an ocean of stars

glistening

We swam in the tide,

blowing kisses to the stars

tempting these winds

til trees lay bare

and cherry blossoms were our only cover

from the blush of the moon…

Yes,

it must have been spring…

the honey was sweet

Things bloom this time of year, in many ways, and you've captured that here so magnificently with a blend of beautiful scenery and emotion.

dripping with loveliness & captivating. so warm and sensual. you've captured the seduction of the season and love oh so well.

Made me think of:
“In the Spring a young man's fancy lightly turns to thoughts of love.” - Tennyson

a hot write like the next season that will be ushered in. thanks for sharing ... :)

sounds like the Garden of Eden before the fall...before they tried to get knowledge that was not for them to have...and God said, "everybody out of the pool"--

such a sensual piece in your own signature style...

nicely done...

You have a gift of creating beautiful, sensual images with your words that help us escape from the harsh reality of this world into a world where love and romance rule over all. To read your poetry is like drinking delicious clear water from a natural spring and it is both refreshing and reviving. Thank you for doing what you do, Julie, and sharing it with us.

If only there were a few more days like this. A melodic and graceful look at one of the great things that this life has to offer. Honey and cherry blossoms go together really well in my mind. A symphony or color and small and taste, wrapped in the cloak of love. Nice work!!!!

Your poem is a breath of fresh air in these times of never-ending tragedies & outrage. I wish I could escape into such gentle words of imagery when I write, but lucky I can read you instead! *smile* I love the hints of seduction & vivid observations to tingle all the senses. This is how I feel when I go outside & feel the warm wilderness breeze all around me, carrying every fantasy I ever had (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
