She said, She said, She said, She said

She said, She said, She said, She said

A Poem by Juliette Cross

She was like an element of surprise,
her silhouette glowing in bright spectacles,
and everyone wore prominent colors in her honor.
beauty’s like a blow to the head
and she said,

time is wasting away,
but surely I am not...
                                taking away your throne,
make room for tomorrow hon,
and I’ll see what i can do next Sunday.

beautiful face, nice pace, walk on the dotted line.
hold tight
out of sight
keep my thought in mind.

She was the stability of clocks
ticking ticking tocks
put me down for Sunday.

They were living all around you,
the opposing silhouette of a heartbeat
glowing in the bright spectacle of existing heat.
beauty's just a blow to the head,
that one day, she said.
