Once Again

Once Again

A Poem by Just Brooke
"

A poem about losing someone you love.

"
 Once Again

Once again I breathe in.
Keep walking and pretend,
I'm okay without you my love.
and without sound,
once again I breathe out.

All the roses that never let me cry,
they've all left me behind.
I can't find a time,
when I was so deprived.

I wonder where you are,
on this painful night,
are you beneath the same stars,
as the ones in my sky?

Tell me, where's your grave?
So I can leave roses.
Tell you that I miss you babe.
Kick the dirt above it,
write down what's broken,
all the promises,
everything stolen.

Like the scars I wanted to keep,
the ones that healed,
they sunk so deep.
Do you know how it feels
not to remember,
how they looked in December?

I just want to trace the lines in your palm.
Feeling your heart stop,
shattered me into pieces.
You being the most of me,
now they don't fit the same.
See you were my frame,
the piece holding me up.

Once again I breathe in.
Keep walking and pretend,
I'm okay without you my love.
And without sound,
once again I breathe out.

This poem "once again" by Just Brooke sounds real and honest.
Many poems are contrived and bereft of honest emotion because they are created by people who are too young to have experienced a full measure of life.
