Sting

Sting

A Poem by Justine Mclatchie

Sting

Sting

Sting

Arches her back as it bites

Coursing through her veins as fast as lightning strikes

Bolted and cold , abandoned on the floor

Heavy drops of ice rain drops fall atop her head

Sting

Sting

Goes the bitter remarks of her work

Sting

Sting

Nothing will ever be enough

Cold floor boards creak

She is all alone

The world is not her own

Sting

Sting

don’t leave me to stand alone
