Dear stranger

Dear stranger

A Poem by Jvonne
"

Not a poem, just something random

"

We are worlds apart and a million oceans divide us. But if you only knew of the impression your words have made.

You have invaded my thoughts, keeping me awake at night. Your written word carrying me through long and empty days. If only I could enter your magical world. A secret place you created, existing between time and space. But I fear I might never leave, I might stay...captivated.

Captivated behind your walls of kryptonite, content in the ecstasy of your touch. I fear that I might drown in the depths of you.

Your complicated soul might leave me cold. Your contradicting ways might leave me afraid and confused.  Your passionate embrace might leave me wanting more. Like a drug I’m cautious to take, you might leave me addicted….

But you’re like Pandora’s Box, even the strong cannot resist. Are you aware of the effect you have on my restless mind, my seeking heart? You are the forbidden fruit I am so very willing to taste.

If you only knew, dear stranger………

Not sure what this is, but I kinda like it. I would put it under prose poetry though. I do like the refrences and it speaks clearly. I think it should say 'Depths' instead of 'depts'. And there is no need for more than 3 dots(.) at any point. Interesting read. :)

Poetic musings set to prose, not confined by rules of meter an rhyme.

Incautiously written, thoughtfully penned. Interesting write...

Nice...

the internet makes relationships like this so easy...and so difficult. i'm not sure that's what you were writing about, but it's how i related to the writing. you describe the feelings extremely well. been there. done that.

I agree with TheSweet, I'd consider this prose poetry. The consistent use of evocative imagery makes it poetry and not just prose, or so I would say. There's a lot of emotion bubbling in these words. I think this piece describes a relationship with a pen-pal of some sort. So we read: "We are worlds apart and a million oceans divide us." And "Your written word carrying me through long and empty days." And for two people who are seperated by a million oceans what better place is there than "A secret place..., existing between time and space." I thought that was a great bit of invention.

I also thought the description of her friend was well done: "complicated soul" "contradicting ways" "passionate embrace" "walls of kryptonite". So we understand when she says: "I fear that I might drown in the depths of you."
I enjoyed it. Well done.
