My Friend Murphy

My Friend Murphy

A Poem by Jvonne

Murphy my friend paid a visit today.

I won the lotto this morning
and lost my ticket
I was on time for a meeting
and no one came
I photographed the ghost of Elvis
and my camera broke

Murphy my friend paid a visit today

You finally gave me your number
and I lost my phone
You walked into my direction
and I lost my nerve
I wrote you a letter
and the post office was closed

Had dinner at my favourite restaurant
and lost my wallet when the bill came
Went to bed wanting to sleep like the dead
And they had a party next door…

Murphy my friend paid a visit today

A jinxed tale. Kind of reminded me of a comedy sketch wherein tragedy will befall the main character at every possible turn!

"For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction." This was a great write, and well written. Looking forward to more poems from you.

Love it , and have had my share of visits by Murphy . He does keep one their toes ..

( My high school Physics teacher modified Murphy's law into Amaral's axiom - "what can happen will - with loud noises and fiery displays " )
