Starvation

Starvation

A Poem by K. Sikes

I keep my eyes open
but I never really see.
I am not plagued by deafness,
but voices cannot quite reach me.
I walk through life blind, deaf, and numb,
So that I do not feel. I fail to know.
It is a choice, this ignorance.
That, I will always know.
Numbness is better,
better than hurting.
But eventually, something occurs much stronger than hurting.
Starving.
I starve to feel the radiant touch of another's heart glow.
I starve to shed a tear.
But I cannot satisfy my hunger,
until someone resolves my reasons for crying.

Very breathtaking & emotional attachments of love-issues you add to this masterpiece. Rhythmic portion/composition's very strong &, creatively pen'd up. A heap of depth's being found in your poetry that makes readers getting lost even in your deepen words. Nice imagery.
