Energy

Energy

A Poem by K. Sikes

I am but
a drop of air
A cluster of oxygen
And so are you

I will be quick
But never gone
I'll spread myself into infinity
And so will you

Until we are one
With all the other
Until I do not end
And neither do you

My self will fade
As I become this next phase
This eternal mass of singularity
We will be each other and nothing

We are energy
Confined to bodies
But when our bodies fade
Our energy will rejoin the Universe from which we were plucked

Interesting poem, very complex. I like the use of repetition, it is done well. I like the use of the term fade as people can fade but energy can not be destroyed, only changed.
I also liked the use of the word confined, it gives links to things like dysphoria. The dissatisfaction with life.
