Within the Breeze

for he ... who was but a moment in time

you drifted by within the breeze

took me by surprise

settling next to my being 

entering each others eyes

language spoken 

yet not required

we both knew the silent tune

dancing alongside stardust 

answering questions 

no-one dared ask 

we each knew our own way home 

but the new path offered 

a different kind of light 

lessons not needed 

yet unwittingly given 

received in gracious courtesy 

what was this we had?

a moment in time 

filled with cascading light 

from every direction 

glittering smiles 

from you 

from me

laughter filled the air 

at knowing the known

and being 

just being 

you were my sunrise 

I your sunset

completing each other’s moment 

without needing, or wanting

just being

then the breeze picked up

you were gone 

and I smiled 

as our time was so brief 

… just a few moments

but within those moments

I remembered 

every life

every moment 

every rise and every fall 

of every atom 

within

not only my being 

but yours

and all of the moments 

…….since time began……..

This poem really was beautiful. Your experience had to of been as well. I guess we never know when a time of connection with another can happen. It can be unexpected and be like having our thirst quenched. New friendships and meetings do not always click and many times people after meeting simply go their own ways hardly having touched another's need for connection or our own. Your poem was an affirmation to be open to these kinds of meetings, staying open to others and caring.
