I have this friend who knows that I write poetry. So every time he sees me he wants to arm wrestle. i'm no match and I offer so little resistance and he knows it. So each time he understands that he "should" win since poets "figuratively" are what Hart Crane considered effete. "word foreplay" is what Plath called "The wings of such violence". It is not a mystery nor the fight against some leviathan. It is just mans uncivilized instinct; poems are barbarous!

All seems a bit harsh, I think the reader can either allow the sink, or not when reading and interpreting. I think the real poets are those that have a real sense of this reality, life, existence.

There are many novices, I will admit, that seem to write scowl on a page for the sake of it (gosh I do) but every so often, the universe allows that sink-in to the depths - a connection takes place and understanding comes at a deeper level, perhaps leave the writer somewhat moved, perhaps even leaves the reader shifted in perspective. Sometimes we need the effete to discover the depths.

ahahaha ... your little vixen you ... all i can think of is Hemmingway .. i think your very surgical poem is very stimulating young lady! not much of a drinker me self .. probably why i only produce something to post every month or two. i love the title .. very inclusive and is a warm invitation ... the sensuality and call to write is intoxicating ... this is a gem luv! so bold .. so real ... and the sprinkle of humor i read in it is just right ... i like this one a lot my friend! thanks for sharing!

You are Narcopath - everyone has a bit of everything within them. Often the pedulum gets stuck one side and exacerbates whatever the heck is going on inside at that moment.

You should come to America. I'll show you how boring the midwest is (chicago's not so bad, the food is exquisite). Or, if you time it right, I'll show you how awesome the wilderness of the east coast is on mushrooms surrounded by retired high speed army dudes. It's a type of super-camping; don't worry, I'll keep you safe.

Have you ever been to Tennessee or Kentucky? Back in my military days I was stationed at Ft Campbell which is on the border of those two states... some of the most beautiful territory on planet lives there. I never really realized it until I stopped blowing s**t up for a living.
