This Life

in the depth of our breaths 

we can witness five foot sunflowers unfold and

face the sun, we radiate eyes closed

in the light of the sun allowing the

caress as we watch the 

dance of life illuminated against the 

backdrop of our eyelids

with another breath we soften, 

remembering we are here to 

participate in this reality, 

never were we meant to watch from the fence

we offer ourselves unbound with only the best 

ourselves, a gift for others

shining our light outward for all to catch 

reflecting it back, 

knowing we are all here for 

purpose, expansion and best of all

dance free in every moment 

emancipated even from self
