A Streak of Sunshine

A streak of sunshine

enters my life

Through the chink between the curtains

  That guard the windows from my sight.

Immersed in darkness

Like many a soul,

I crave for that brightness

That penetrates my soul.

The light illuminates the dust

my life is all about

But I'd rather not concentrate on that,

and soak myself in the warmth;

in and out.

And believe me, 'tis true

Life will always be hard,

and challenges endless too,

But that single streak of sunshine-

will make it worth.
