Hail Mary; Fall From Grace (Upon My Sickbed)

Hail Mary; Fall From Grace (Upon My Sickbed)

A Poem by Jesse Fuentes
"

An attempt at a spiritual poem, not necessarily religious

"

i.

lips puckered, invitingly

as if She were asking

for a kiss. I’m afraid

it’s a little different

ii.

this cord running

dribbles down my throat

greedily. goodness gracious

A peach is

much more sweet

(Jesus if i cup my hands to my face and peer through these lenses i can almost see God)

iii.

and you slither near

my feet. are you blistering

in your skin? too close

I can crush your head

with resent

iv.

perhaps You’ll see

i’m sorry. if i wear You

out, like a veil

against my mouth. i'll press

my hands tattooed

with a prayer.
