Misty Wonders

Misty Wonders

A Poem by Luna Northstar
"

Song at the Bottom

"
You're ever so still tonight, concealed in a fog
Like a warm blanket to hide under

The mist is humid and cloaks the stars
Yet your still there somehow...and I start to wonder.

Are you watching me
As I'm watching you?

I look into your darkness
Of gray, black, and blue

Through the dark and the hazy night
I wonder what you see

You're warm and inviting
And somehow you comfort me.

The warm, humid air tells me to sit down
The soft, gentle wind tells me to let go

I look into you and feel safe... and I start to talk
My words begin to flow

When I am finished and content
And I'm done with my confession

I look to you for an answer
But you look back with no expression

Just a calm and dark sheet of blackness
Silent and solitary, your feelings untold

I look at you again and quietly ask
"What secrets do you hold?

You, who have seen everything since nothing
Since the the world began to unfold

You, who have listened to millions of voices
What secrets do you hold?"

Yet no answer emerges from the night
And I look at you and wonder...

Why are you so silent tonight
When other times you thunder

I wonder if the thunder, are your screams of pain
And perhaps a rainbow is a sign for your glee

But tonight is confusing, with your silent blackness
And your ever still, never ending beauty

Yet at the same time, so simple you are
Nothing remarkable, simple and plain

Yet within your simpleness
You hold beauty the same

I wonder what you think and feel
About what miracles you've watched unfold...

I look to you and quietly ask
"What secrets do you hold?

With the eternal mounds of knowledge
And the wisdom you possess

Do you ever think of sharing it?
To maybe confess?

To maybe even sharing, a little bit of knowledge
Perhaps you'd be willing to give some to me?

Not too much, just a little
Do you agree?"

Yet you stay sealed in silence
And give away not a thing

You seem to be holding it all
Within your dark wing

I look at you and wonder
For that's all I can do

My mind starts racing
All about you

Like are you maybe disappointed, in the human race
You have witnessed so many wars

So many deaths and battles
It must be hard to face.

That makes me wonder
About your strong core...

Like, do you even care
Or do you purposely ignore

Maybe your disappointed
Or sad or maybe... lonely.

It can't be that much fun
Being an "One and Only".

I look into your dark abyss
Of never ending wonder

And then I start to think
About your thoughts, of us, here under...

Forever sentenced to watching over
A never ending world

A world that you can't smell or touch
With no company except for a lonely girl

A world that disregards you
As a simple thing that is always there

A simple thing that never goes away
A thing for which no one spends a care

I wonder how you feel right now
Behind you black, dark mask

I wonder if all this knowledge
Isn't worth the task

I wonder if you rather,
Live in the world you protect

Instead of being a never ending
Thing to neglect

Your beauty is enchanting
The greatness in your fold

I wish I could only know
The wonder that you hold.
