Status Quo

Status Quo

A Poem by Karen Redburn
"

More ramblings, thanks for comments or suggestions.

"

I am not the enemy, he says

The words bounce off blank stares

Shouting NEXT moving past it

Unwilling to hear this idea

Or to struggle with its possibilites

An enemy is easier to live with

Than a person opposed to status quo

I like this a lot. There is a clever venom throughout. At the end of the day you live and die by who you are. In the end so be it. Nice work.

You are very welcome. My pleasure.
A profoundly perceptive perspective.
Unfortunately, the Establishment's initial reaction to change is to destroy the change agent; eliminate anything or anyone threatening its perceived stability.
After much damage and even, lives lost, the Establishment eventually--inevitably--presents that change to the world as its own innovation.
