Beyond

Beyond

A Poem by Karissa A. Kelly
"

General hopelessness sprouts into misery, and prompts one to wonder what lies beyond this plane of consciousness.

"

Standing atop the ledge

arrived after hours’ maunder

What lies beyond this edge

of reality, I wonder.

From the precipice’s top

The ground far below

Indicates a long drop

And if I were to throw

off of it, there isn’t a soul about to stop

me, or even know.

To push off

Standing tall

Not so much as a quaff

before I fall.

It is difficult enough doing the jump but the landing part is the real issue

I think what lies beyond is the astral plane. It is another level of existence where spirits go.
