Fantastical Sanity

Fantastical Sanity

A Poem by Karissa A. Kelly
"

Some thoughts I wrote long ago that I thought I'd share.

"
Is it better to live
amongst our fantasies
guarded by the stone walls of ignorance
Just so long as it's pleasurable?
Or are we better left
to walk through this universe
with all its faults
and all its imperfections
and dangers that lurk every corner
Accepting it for what it is?
Shall one salvage their sanity or come to grips with reality?

Very interesting question posed here. Fantasies (for most of us) are not usually evil in themselves, so I believe a little bit doesn't hurt. It's when an individual tends to hide within fantasies that trouble begins. Better to face the objective world, unpleasantness and all, for dealing with that unpleasantness successfully is a measure of growth.
