Diamond Addictions - Killing Time

Diamond Addictions - Killing Time

A Poem by KatDarkness

Heart is a locked coffin, caged in broken ribs,

A shattered soul glints silver, eyes all glass and

Faded like the stars' scrap metal.

A sky drowning in diamonds, pretty things that we

Haven't watered down; we dance among the

Headstones, killing time.

The clock's face is scarred, it's hands are cold and shaking,

Cruel addictions, ever lasting fantasies in the

Dark; pounding hearts, mechanical mentalities,

But we're just killing time, it's blood it in our hands,

Runs through our twisted fingers.

Killing time, let's take its drugs and needles, time will be

The death of me.

I can see why you liked the line about diamonds...
You last line caught my eye, "time will be the death of me."
I also liked the reference to a "headstone" and blood diamonds...
Very sharp!
