A Poem by K.

Twirling twisting under over

Looping back again

Pulling pushing with such force

It breaks the backs of men

It rises up and pushes down

The force laughs in your face

Tilt your head and grit your teeth

Keep your feet in place

Careless ease and snarky pressure

Poisoning your ken

Stamping out your hopeful flames

Never dream again

You have the strength, push it back

It will only slow your pace

Fight it hard with all your rage

But don’t forget your grace

I quite love this actually. The first and last stanzas are brilliant, imo. Middle ones have a few small cliche parts but overall it's one of the better poems I've read in a while. It's lovely.

Don't be messin' w/da wind! Rhyme & rhythmic song quality. This wind has somethin' of the "hell hath no fury" goddess about it! When storm pressures rise, seek the Eye. Exhilarating!

ohh la la, I do like it, there's good even rhyme scheme, but could be even more subconscious with it, not like i'm anyone to judge anyways, keep writing for the sake of the world!

Doesn't need any work at all, I think it's perfect as it is. Damn that wind though, the bane of skinny folk and bikers! This is a superb little poem Kate, thank you for the awesome read.

So interesting and original,
I don't read so many poems about wind and definitely not so many giving it that "enemy-like" role - this is actually very curious because we can trackle down such a concept to the foreign old people of the Vickings, according to their mythology, wind was made by a giant and was itself a giant and they used to consider giants as negative beings.
Nice poem (particularly enjoyed the visual details) =D

I like how you've described all the important aspects for why the wind remains one of mother nature's strongest forces to date. It's range for influencing the dynamics of mankind remain parallel to the ongoing storm front's of personal change. Great job. :) An enjoyable read.
