My Resurrection

My Resurrection

A Poem by Awake.&.Unafraid
"

Sometimes the good guys wear black. Don't bash my music until you've given it a chance.

"

This is my acceptance

Reflecting your rejection

The beat's always faster at night

How wrong can it be when it feels so right?

Angels dressed in red satin and lace

Singing in broken prose

Where are your angels now?

As I sing these words out loud

This is my hopeless victory

This is my resurrection

This is my only chance

My life story at a glance

You don't understand

You can't comprehend

The way that I feel when I sing it,

Power and hope are within it

These are my songs

These are my feelings

So judge me by them if you must

I'll go and leave you in the dust

Or come with me and you will see

The wonders that the stories hold

The lack of fear that resounds through the songs

Will have you listening all night long
