African

African

A Poem by kayBiE

My chocolate brown skin
Is tastier than any chocolate on these lands
It shimmers with life
It fills the air with natural sweet flavors not even the ground manufacturers
It drips under the sun
Sweet and delectable.
My African curves
lead way to my African roots
Both directions lead to a destination worth travelling
But if you want to enjoy even more
Following my African bosoms
Their stories lead way back
Back to the days of Sarah bartmaan
I'm not ashamed of my F inure
My big assets
My dark skin
My natural hair that keeps feeding the nation with courage
Courage to accept our ancestors ways
To speak in tongues
And shan't and jump and dance
To speak head on with the dead
Originality is from my African people
Carved on our faces
Stripped from our flesh
And grilled as sacrifice
And peace offering to tell gods.

Dear Poet. You are a amazing writer.
"My African curves

Both directions lead to a destination worth travelling
But if you want to enjoy even more
Following my African bosoms
Their stories lead way back
Back to the days of Sarah bartmaan"
The above lines stood out for me. You made your point with directness and honest thoughts. You left me the want to read more and understand more. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.
