A Long Time Ago

A poem about how some things used to be.

A long time ago you'd see families having fun together,
A long time ago there weren't many school shootings, not any mall shootings, and rarely ever any mass shootings,
A long time ago kids could go outside to play without much worry of being kidnapped,
A long time ago you could trust your friends,
A long time ago you could go to a church and not worry about being harmed,
A long time ago road rage was unheard of,
A long time ago there weren't many forrest or wild fires,
A long time ago a hurricane or any natural disaster wouldn't occur very often,
A long time ago the politics didn't seem so corrupt,
A long time ago you could wake up and not worry about what's outside waiting to harm you,
Of course now we can only reminisce about how things were... a long time ago.
