In search of America

In search of America

A Poem by Kayla_May

Life Ages many

As does longing

The feeling of being stranded

and stuck in the same place

is well known

Among all Americans

Afraid to unhook their youthful roots.

What is there to lose?

when the world is at your finger tips

yet you allow not yourself to enjoy it.

The fear of not having stability

when you are to return,

Yet you can have stability wherever you go

If you never established a place of permanence

Humans are so cowardice

What has this world become?

There are no "real men"

That walk about the Earth

Everyone is afraid of what could be lost.

The older we get the more we realize

We don't have much time to fullfill

Our youthful yearnings.

So in search of America what did i find?

I found young ones in need of

Wanting to explore.

They all wanted to come with me

Yet they were all stuck in their roots

Afraid of losing their everything.
