STRANDED

STRANDED

A Poem by Kay Salisu Titilola
"

A prisoner of love.

"

To the one that broke my heart, I wrote this tiny piece of words.

For I heard she’s really coming to bring me back her love.

But right now I don’t understand what she’s up to

So, I sent this ahead to tell her out of confusion.

“I deeply trusted you with all I have in life,

Giving to you all you’ve ever desired.

Even in my pain I made you smile,

But you’ve never make me happy.

All those days I tried so hard,

To keep you happily right by my side.

But the more I tried the more you kick me out,

Making me to feel like loving someone is a crime.

When you were leaving, I couldn’t hold my tears,

Thinking about the time we’ve spent together.

You left me alone in this lonely universe,

With my heart broken far apart.

Now, you trying to come back again,

Do you mean I should give you another chance?

But, sorry I’ve made up my mind never to love again.

For the wound you’ve caused is still deep in my heart.”

Now I’m lost in confusion, can somebody tell me the way out?

I’m still feeling the pain inside me, and still trying to mend my heart.

Should I give her another chance? Or should I tell her it is forever over?

I don’t just know ‘cause I’m stranded and my heart can’t bear it once again.
