YOU CHOOSE WHAT SHOULD BE DONE TO YOU.

YOU CHOOSE WHAT SHOULD BE DONE TO YOU.

A Poem by Kay Salisu Titilola

People treat you the way you treat yourself,

Look at you the way you look at yourself,

Discipline you the way you discipline yourself,

Respect you the way you respect yourself,

Love you the way you love yourself,

And admire you the way you admire,

The result of the way people address you,

Depends on the way you present yourself.

If you don't grant people an access,

They can never reach your mind.

For true happiness lies within yourself,

And not on anywhere on earth.

Don’t think life enforced things on you,

You can determine how you want people to approach you.

there are certain aspects of this poem that remind me very much of my own dokun, which consists of a pledge, an oath and a creed.... all of which are very important to me... Neville
