The Highway of Life

The Highway of Life

A Poem by Kay Salisu Titilola
"

...

"
On the highway of life,
we travel from end to end,
either with the speed of light,
or like snail in the ocean depth.
We all aiming for a price,
that not everyone will get.
But still were striving hard
to make the biggest difference.

Here we are in a jumbled wild,
Where irony has gone insane.
The strong might fall down flat,
Where the feeble make a change.
The rich wants the peace of mind,
While the poor wants the race.
The balance lies where it lies
somewhere beyond our gaze.

Nevertheless, despite it all,
Whether you are tall or even short,
Black or white, Indian or color.
Whether you're rich or you're poor,
live on the street, in mansion or hut.
Life is ever submissive to no one.
We can't stop what is meant to be,
We are only keep trying to avoid it.

Unfortunately, not all of us get what we want in this life. Still, we can't let that truth overwhelm us. There is something to be said for striving courageously, no matter how the tide is flowing. I would rather die on my feet than live on my knees.

Wise words here Kay. Life has its pitfalls and dangers a few pot holes too. We have to navigate carefully to avoid the negatives. Who said life was easy? Well penned.

"irony has gone insane"
love that line...
Yes, this world is crazy...and we are just trying to hang in and hang on until the ride stops
and we can get off and breathe again.

You are right my friend.
"Life is ever submissive to no one.
We can't stop what is meant to be,
We are only keep trying to avoid it."
With life, we learn to adapt and become wiser. Hello from Michigan and thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry and your thoughts.
