Now or Never

Now or Never

A Poem by Kay Salisu Titilola
"

....

"
So short is the life we're living.
and will soon be as if we're dreaming.
Like flash of light that disappear so quickly,
so we will as we fade slowly from memories.

The time to plant a seed is now.
Or we would live a life without a path.
I'll Ink down so many as much as I can
Before it is too late to say goodbye.

Life is fragile. We are just a seed in the overall picture of time. We don't know how long we have here. It is up to us to make a mark. Some people take up the challenge, others let it slip by. To some it is important, to others not. Get your pen working Kay. A meaningful write.

That's how life is. Like illusion, it disappeared as if it was not there in the first place.

Wise words that should be lived every day. For life in its brevity grants us so little time to leave behind memories for those who love us. So that we may live a bit longer after our passing in the heart that we touch. Thank you for sharing your thoughtful poem with us.

Thank you for your wonderful contribution, Carlos.
We only have this short time.
As I wrote many, many years ago

Yesterday has been and gone
today is in between
tomorrow just another day
I have never seen.

Time is fleeting ... before you know it, you're pushing three-quarters of a century wondering how it happened.

Good one Kay

You are right Ted.
Time pass so quickly.
In truth, the now is all we ever really have. The past is a dream, the future a guess. If we don't value and utilize the now, we are ignoring the only reality there is. The poem illustrates this truth well.

Life is too short; it seems to pass us by too quickly; So, in a blink of an eye, get busy, have a path, do as many things as you like that give you pleasure. Write, think, philosophize, meditate, love another, be an activist for justice; but don't stand still. I like your comparison to life as a dream; gone in a split second or not even remembered. Well written and a very relevant.
Warm Regards,
Betty

You’re very welcome!
reminds me of a Julian Lennon song..."and it's much too late for goodbye"---

yes, this captures the heart of life.....live it or it will be over before you get a chance to.
nicely done, Kay,

Thank you for that reference, Jacob.
We have to live while we can.
Despite my knowing your message is spot-on, I also wonder how many humans, given the curse of "free will" can actually do as you suggest? I mean, everyone gives a little bit, thinking they're giving more than they are, but most people are not willing to live a life of any great sacrifice, just to be remembered as a good person. For you, personally, (in your poem) this sounds like it's a decision made, tho (((HUGS)))
