Spit rightly.

Spit rightly.

A Poem by Kay Salisu Titilola

To what seems disgusting, we spit and spat.
Yet, to a poisonous tasty meal, we swallow it down.
Why is Monkey always loving a sweet banana,
even though it is meant for him as a trap?

What jumps out at me --> this poem is about the power of OPINION. So much of what people operate on is OPINION. Seeing things as black & white, right or wrong. If we believe that cow innards are yummy, we slurp 'em down. If not, we won't touch 'em! But thinking like animals or babies, putting anything into their mouths to try it . . . we adult humans can't tolerate the risk, so we put up our walls of opinion. Nicely thought-provoking poem (((HUGS)))

Is the banana a trap for the monkey? I have never questioned that before. A thought provoking piece Kay. All the best poet.

I took this as the vax trap the last line anyway
It’s very deep
Thanks it’s all good that we can understand everyone’s poems differently

Thanks for your wonderful perspective, Julie.
Actually, I think the poem illustrates well the fact that we think with our guts instead of our heads.

Exactly, John.
That makes us so blind to many things.
