I shall...

I shall...

A Poem by Kay Salisu Titilola
"

....

"
The path of life I found myself,
is one full of dread and fear.
All alone I walk like silhouette
hoping to see a bright light ahead.

Awful memories stuck on replay
hurting my head like I'm insane.
Flood of depression washing me away
in the rollercoaster of hope and pain.

The time of freedom I await to come,
moments of hope and that of joy,
days of relief from chains and bonds,
Coz I just want to smile again.

Life is hard for many Kay.

I liked the positive words above. We must go forward and hope. We can find some happiness. Thank you my friend for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

You are right my friend and you are welcome.
Sometimes negative experiences can remain with us for years, cropping up unexpectedly as painful memories. When we struggle with them they only get stronger. The best course is to face them and allow them to be what they are. Deprived of the fuel of resistance, they will fade away.

That's the truth, John.
We need to learn to let go.
Dear Kay, your words will be relatable to many. Not a good place to find yourself. I sincerely hope you break free from your black dog depression soon and will find some joy in life again. Hang in there. The light at the end of the tunnel may be just around the corner.

Thank you very much, Chris.
That's why I keep my head up.
A very strong piece of poetry with the words jumping out from the page to land into the heart. It felt very relatable to me and my struggles every day. Thank you for sharing your poem with us.

It's my pleasure, Carlos.
We'll be fine.
writing is so therapeutic...and if not necessarily autobiographical, it can surely help others going through the same issues in life.
