Bonfires

 

 

 Days are drifting astray

Light it ablaze, close beside you

Is where I want to stay

On the white sands by the Caspian shores

Looking at the night blend in with the waves

Fragments of shells under our feet

Fearless we lay counting the stars

Bonfires take us away

 

To jazzy skies of grey

Intoxicated by flames reflected in your eyes

Far far away I hide and seek, forever yours

Love like embers implanted in your cheeks

Your fiery smile in the cool breeze

Romantic music sets the mood to please     

Roaring with the wind, screaming your name

Chase after you through the seven seas

Bonfires take us away

 

To a mystical place where the moon and the sun       

Kiss and exchange glances, summer and winter romances

The life within a glimpse of an eye is an eternal lullaby

Put me to sleep, some dreams I forever want to keep

Your presence and essence with absence of doubt

Like a candle on a table shedding warmth out  

Bonfires take us away...

I saw the pic.the title and I KNEW THIS WOULD BE FANTASTIC WORK. There is something magical and romantic about the glow of a bonfire. The smell...the sparks...it inspires the heat of love.

I love how you ended every thought with the "Bonfire's take us away" such a fluid read. A favorite.

Haha wow you make me so proud of writing :D Like i'll be honest with you muse, I sit down and go to write something and I honestly don't believe in it until I read the reviews on here and I start to question myself... is it really as good as these amazing people say, I mean wow you make me feel proud to write, thank you!!! I loved that line too "Put me to slee, some dreams I forever want to keep" I hope the poem plants an image or reminds people of their fondest memories of being in love :)

Im noticing a pattern, our work seems to be total opposites hahaha, you generally have a gentle or sweet tone to your writing, giving the reaer a warm feeling. bring me back memories, from the periode in Italy where I've lived, and we danced, and run all together in the sea at midnight for it was "Ferragosto" manifesto... sigh :) you dance with words, and I can only listen en enjoy! so beautiful, I'm your fan forever! :)

Thank you so much Elisa, that must have been amazing I've been to Italy only for a day and just stayed in Milan, I had a stopover flight to the states. Was beautiful, I preferred that one day visit in Italy to my month vacation in the states, I played football with the local boys by the cathedral, I ate the best pizza i've tasted in my life and I had the funniest driver who would make me laugh and show us all the amazing places in Milan. I wish I could just travel the world and write inspiring pieces like you do, you're an inspiration to me and hopefully many more writers. I hope you know that xoxo.

Oh fantastic!!! next to "Il Duomo" I lived in Milan too next to the famous church. :) also in Naples, maybe I've seen you playing soccer lol... it was in 1998, though. Italy is my beloved country, and I plan when I'm retired to live there forever. It's wonderful you share this with me. Milan is so different from Southern Italy, in rich and poor, but the feeling is always there. You inspire me too, for I have a yearning to visit your country as you know. I have a friend who did go there for a month or longer, and I hear the best stories, and adventures... :) you're the best, thanks a lot! :) xoxo
