The Man I Once Knew

The Man I Once Knew

A Poem by UnknownWritter

There was a man I once knew,

he was,

 at least to me,

perfect,

honorable,

flawless,

he would dance around the house,

filling everyone with cheer,

he would listen to their dreams,

and announce his own,

his eye woud sparkle,

along with the cheer of his words.

      But,

as time passed,

and words faded,

that man disappeared,

and what was left,

a hollow shell,

cold,

distant,

alone,

he no longer dances,

he no longer dreams,

he sits and waits for the next fight out of town,

and his eyes,

darkened,

until,

there wasn't even a flicker left,

the proud man vanished,

and what is left,

is no longer the man i knew,

this  man,

never speaks,

he just sits,

and waits,

for the next tragety to come.
