A Poem by Kees Kapteyn

Step past the curtains

Into the stream of water.

Feels immediately the ecstacies of warmth on your back,

Like hands, like sunlight.

Anoint yourself with soap,

Then from your skin,

Purge every speck of dust, salt and filth,

Every iniquity that you've accumulated from the world.

Step out into the cold mist.

Emerge with an sterile, immaculate glow.

Once again, you are healthful,

Cleansed and able to face the world.

i really appretiate this poem because in Ecuador they only have cold showers. It really conjured up an image for me. Good job!
