division

division

A Poem by Kees Kapteyn

Individuals divide

Only under enormous pressure

Geological and seismic insults

They divide into fractions

Incomplete sentences,

Lost nouns, lost predicates

Lacking syntax without context

Missing in action

This is fantastic. I love how the metaphor flows from that of a huge earth moving magnitude,to the minuteness of the lack expressed in the fragmentation of language. Beyond that, I also like what this poem expresses. Our individuation that separates us from each other leaves us -at best- incomplete and, at worst, totally lacking a consciousness of our own reality (missing in action). Great write, i liked it a lot
