Open your eyes.

I cut because I feel like my whole world and mind are crashing down around me and I am suffocating.

And then I see the REAL problems in this world and I think: How could I be so selfish?

I was only allowed to write two lines for a contest and still had to put some emotion. and say so many things in so little. so voila. Open your eyes was born.

Well, that's such an intensely personal bit, it's hard to say much except... replace "cut" with drugs, alcohol, or any other coping/addiction, and the piece still rings true. It's human nature to cope with the un-copable by one means or another. Don't feel bad for being selfish - we're ALL selfish - it's recognizing it and doing something about it that counts. I think that... It's kind of mean to people who feel differently about cutting...
But then again... What do I know?
I can definitely feel the emotion. And the human being is incredibly selfish. Good job with it overall.
