The World Still Spins

The World Still Spins

A Poem by RainbowEmerald

Morning dew
We wake up every day and smell the freshly cut grass
And as we inhale the sweet air
The world still spins

As we go to breakfast
The bacon sizzles like our heart
And through all the sizzling and popping
The world still spins

When you look to the sky
You see the swirling clouds
Like the life you thought you had
And the world still spins

At night as your head rests upon your pillow
The stars come out to sing you to sleep
And as the city in which you live is dreaming
The world still spins

And it won't ever stop, either.
No matter how dizzy you get.

What a lovely poem to keep in mind during such tumultuous times. "The world still spins" is such a hopeful, optimistic refrain.

Thank you for your words!

And long will it spin; when we are dust and gone before. This is the lesson we should learn, that our time on this beautiful gift of a planet is no more than a blink of the creator's eye and we should embrace every moment.

A lovely, uplifting poem.

Beccy.

Regardless of good or bad events, life goes on. Time doesn:t stop for anyone. It marches ahead, whatever we are doing. On occasions I wish it would slow down. I enjoyed the read.
