INK STAINS

INK STAINS

A Poem by Kelsmiles

INK STAINS

I DON'T SPEAK MY WORDS ALOUD,
THEY'RE ALREADY SCREAMING IN MY HEAD
If given too much sanction,
they'll tear through my every bastion.

Sweet release can only come
through the ink staining the sheets
wringing out all my rhymes
in a minimum of squiggly lines.

All my hopes, dreams realized
in the pages of my mind
howling, bursting refrains
leaving behind tracks of my brains.

Can you feel the mindless rush?
As my words fill the hush
empty sheets, suddenly filled
as my thoughts are quickly spilled.

Mere ink stains on a page
quilled scratches, penciled marks,
Sonnets, lyrics, even haiku,
all penned to say, "I love you".

This starts off with a boom. Kind of schitzo actually but it mellows out towards the end which i really like. It reminds me of this song Aquemini by Outkast were there these two different tempos that mix extremely well. It was hard to understand some parts initially but after reading the entire piece it all made sense.Good work
