Adam Smith For Dummies

Adam Smith For Dummies

A Poem by Ken e Bujold

Parsing pronouns, he she and it

combined their wages and bought themselves

a they. Now they toils day and night

while he and she sit around making grand

pronouncements. And its free

to sit and s**t all day, or night,

since they’s been assigned the job

of cleaning up the mess.

That’s capitalism. He she and it

make more from they than they

can ever hope to earn from his shites.

wow, what a trip, my wife is a US History buff, I will have to read this to her. Wish I was smart enough to do something like this on John Locke. Thanks for the ride. -carl - side note currently reading It's All Right to Hate Capitalism by Bernie Sanders.

Okay, dearest Ken... now this one is strange but rather wonderful...sort of reminds me of another clever writer...
I did enjoy it.

And we are all being jerked off by the invisible hand, which in Adam Smith’s day wore a child’s small, but now is the size of a conglomerate.

A pail of ordure nicely tipped over the heads of the They Them. Perhaps a modern Adam Smith might come up with laws about this new 'division of self', certainly seeing a link between Western capitalism and the multiplication of identities. The rest of us, of a certain age and disposition, thank the Lord we aren't aged twenty in the year 2023.
