Nobodies Hero

Nobodies Hero

A Poem by kenny

Destined to gather dust.
We few stand because we must.
An image of an older age.
Even history has turned the page.
Though useless toy soldiers we stand,
Always ready to lend a hand.

The people cry for heroes and someone to save the day.
Yet when we arrive they turn us away.
The women ask for sensitivity and honor.
Yet when we try they make us out to be a bother.
The men they say they don't trust,
are the ones they reach for in lust.

Former glory continues to elude,
So alone in silence we brood.
Nobodies hero
Nobodies love
Nobodies hope
Nobodies anybody.
