A Poem by kenny

There used to be nights where I worried for you.
But now, my dear, I do know what to do.
yes you needed saving from someone,
but you never saw the things I'd done.
I'd present them to you with anticipation
and you'd always greedily accept with moderate elation.
But it was never for my gift you gloated,
it was always someone else's trophy you toted.
at first I thought I was simply being outdone.
just another battle I'd never won.
But then it clicked one miserable day,
it never once mattered what I say,
there was always someone else in mind.
so for me, you just never found the time.
As always they never worked out,
and still you come to me, to wine and pout.
I always think that that's my shot,
but time after time, you've proven it's not.
