Sorrow of Man

Sorrow of Man

A Poem by kenny

I did nothing but put my heart out,
like you asked.
They did nothing at all.
against your wishes.
They all earned your love.
I'm just as cold as before.
why is it, that doing what I was told,
that expressing my feelings,
that holding out my heart with high hopes,
failed so dismally.
when holding back,
with nothing in their heart,
so quickly wins you?
the worst part, is that's just something I can't do.
