Two Of A Kind

A homage to my two favourite writers of "weird fiction", H. P. Lovecraft and Clark Ashton Smith.

H. P. Lovecraft and Clark Ashton Smith,

created worlds so blessed to me,

 

the Cthulhu Mythos, Zothique and Wentworth's Day,

in mysterious realms these writers held sway,

 

The Shuttered Room,

The Loved Dead,

Beyond The Wall Of Sleep,

dark passions run deep,

 

The Horror Of Red Hook,

was a dire warning,

for The Dark Brotherhood,

we are still moarning,

 

The Cats Of Ulthar,

had their taste,

on old human flesh,

they did partake,

 

Herbert West,

he tried to test,

the limits of science,

posed little defiance,

 

Charles Dexter Ward,

his mind was flawed,

 

Abdul Alhazred,

was a devil's pawn,

 

to secrecy,

shall ye be sworn!

Call me ignorant, but I have no idea who those authors are. But then again, that doesn't mean I can't give you a few somethings to say about your poem. First of all, I like the rhymes, and the flow of ideas, although I would admit I didn't understand a few lines of it. Also, I like the fact that each lines are short but very poetic. And the last two lines are powerful too, a very ending to a good poem. Good Job, indeed.
