Centered

Centered

A Poem by Kevin Holloway

Dinner for one at the lonely table

In an otherwise empty room

There it's the centerpiece

A golden platter where my head rests

Keeping company

Hum Hum

Since I can't whistle

Bounce and smile

When no tears are shed

You, man! Who are you!

Oh

It's just me

Put a lid on it! hahaha

I hear the birds sing outside

Ear against the white-wash

They sound like the color green

Like the leafy trees, I remember

Are they whistling happily

Or sobbing for me

Hum Hum

I'll be the bee, we can work together!

Yes they're bright yellow!

And really furry, cute little buggers

Always zooming around contently

Catching the dripping honey

Can they smell the fresh bloom?

Now they can, I can. I can do it!

My head is in the center of the room

But the room is gone

Gone..

What room?

Hum Hum Hum
